Tournament Rules

  1. Members shall sign up for and prepay green fees no later than the Monday prior to a scheduled tournament or play date. Upon signing up for a tournament, the accepted methods of payment are Check, Premier Card or Cash. Acceptable ways to sign up and prepay are as follows:
    1. Sign up and include a check payable to the specific golf course and insert check in the WWGL envelopes located in the black box in the golf shop at any tournament.
    2. Sign up and use a Premier Card (PC), issued by the Aurora Golf Division at any course. Members using a Premier Card must email or send the card number to the Tee Time Chairperson before using the card. Anyone not emailing their card number to the Tee Time Chairperson will not receive a tee time. On the day of play, you must present the PC to the golf shop personnel to swipe in their computer. At the beginning of every season, or when you join the club or when a new card is issued, members must give their PC number to the Tee Time Chairperson.
    3. When signing up and paying with cash please include your name on the cash and indicate on the tournament envelope that you are paying with cash.
    4. Signing up by mail or email to the Tee Time Chairperson. If using a PC number, an email request is accepted as long as the Tee Time Chairperson has your PC number on file and email is received by the Monday prior to the tournament date. If mailing a check payable to the course, it must be received by the Tee Time Chairperson on Monday prior to the tournament date.

Tee times will not be assigned to members requesting tee times after the Monday prior to the tournament date.

Unused checks will be in the WWGL box during the season for you to re-use at another tournament at the same course, or for you to pick up. All checks left in the box at the end of the season will be discarded / shredded.

  2. The Tee Time Chairperson will assign tee times to those members who have prepaid green fees in accordance with the rules noted above. Consideration will be given to tee times requested on tournament sign up sheets.
  3. Cancellation of Tee Time
  4. The Club Rules are as follows: Cancellation of prepaid tee times is required 24 hours before the first tee time.  Less than 24-hour notice may result in forfeiture of green fees, which will be at the discretion of the golf course. A telephone call to the golf course will not be considered formal notice of cancellation. If you need to cancel the day of play, call the Tee Time Chairperson, leaving a message if not there, and call the golf course to let them know you won’t be playing. YOU NEED TO DO BOTH. THIS IS ONLY ON THE DAY OF PLAY!! If canceling before the day of play, call or send an email to the Tee Time Chairperson stating you are unable to play, not the golf course.

  5. To compete for prize money, you must hole-out regardless of your handicap. If you decide to ‘pick-up’ rather than finish out the hole for any reason, you must note that on your card and disqualify yourself from the tournament. Note: when posting your score into the GHIN system you must use the maximum number of strokes for your handicap, for the course you are playing, on any uncompleted hole.
  6. All tournament scorecards shall be placed in the WWGL box at the golf shop at the end of the round.
    1. All scorecards may only have two players’ names on each card, one on the top half of the card and one on the bottom half of the card.
    2. The scorecards must contain the full name of the players; the gross scores and/or special scores, according to the instructions for the tournament; signatures for the scorer and attesting member; and date.
    3. Scorecards that are illegible or lack proper signatures will be disqualified from the tournament results and will not be eligible for prizes.
    4. Members keeping their own score on the tournament scorecard shall be automatically disqualified.
  7. Club Championship

Members will be assigned tee times by flights and go out by flights A-B-C-D- on day one and D-C-B-A on day two.

Board Members

When a Board position opens, a request for volunteers will be made in August.

Prize Money

As you win prize money it is added to the Aurora Golf Courses’ computer system. After the tournament has been posted to the website, a check is mailed or taken to the course with a distribution list. Once the Pro Shop posts the winnings to their computer, you can spend your winnings for any Pro Shop item(s) (excluding green fees, cart or range balls) at any Aurora City golf course. You may also save your winnings to purchase a large item, i.e. bag, cart, sky caddie, or have them special order something. Prize money never expires so you can save it for as long as you want to make a large purchase. If you play in more than one league, all your winnings are included in the total. The Pro Shop cannot determine which league the winnings come from or which tournament. They only have the total amount.
