WORKING WOMEN’S GOLF LEAGUE |
NOVEMBER 2008
Our golfing season has come to an end but we’ve had such a beautiful fall, hopefully you’ve continued to play.
I want to thank everyone for your support for the last two years while I was President. Without you, the league wouldn’t have been a success. Cindy Christiano will be the new President for next year.
Sandee Campbell, President
NEW BOARD MEMBERS
We have one new board member for next year’s board, Ginger Doubek. Barb Secord was also elected to the board but has declined due to other commitments so the Board will consist of six members for next year. Congratulations and thanks for volunteering to keep this a great league.HOLE-IN-ONE WINNERS
Club rules stipulate if the hole-in-one pot is not won by someone securing a hole-in-one during a tournament throughout the season, at the end of the season the pot will be evenly dispersed to 25% of the hole-in-one participants for that year via a random drawing of current participants. There were 40 participants in the second 2008 hole-in-one contest, which equates to a pot distribution of $40.00 to each of the 10 winners. The winners are:
Barber, Carmen
Burley, Suzy
Kirscht, Minnie
Martine, Lyle
McCoy, Jennifer
Murphy, Samantha
Rivale (Lorentzon), Karin
Shuck, Rose
Takata, Sherri
Yates, Laura
Debra Shultz has written a congratulatory note to accompany the check for each person.

A team sent to represent our league in the Club Team Tournament on September 29th at Glenmoor Country Club consisted of Stacy Corbett, Susan Shaffer, Ginger Doubek and Sandee Campbell. We tied for 22nd with Riverdale Golf Club and Highlands Ranch Golf Club and this is the first year we didn’t finish in last place. We all enjoyed ourselves and were proud to represent our league.
SURVEY
I want to thank all the members that completed the survey this year. The Board reviews all the comments and suggestions to see if they should implement any changes for next year. The question about the low handicappers teeing off from the white/yellow tees received a NO vote. Next year we will all tee off from the red tees at all courses. Slow play was another item brought up and the Board will be following this closer and making changes as need be. There were other items that were mentioned and the Board will be evaluating them to see if we need to implement any of them, so don’t think your comments go unheard. Thanks again for taking the time to fill out the survey.
Again I want to thank everyone for another great year. Have a wonderful warm winter and see everyone next spring. The membership application for 2009 will be on the website by mid-February and the spring meeting will be March 28th at Aurora Hills. An e-mail will be sent out with the application and meeting time, so make sure we have your current e-mail address. Thanks, again.
